It
has been wonderful hearing from everyone and mom's package made it and made my
day! I loved her letter and if you want to write me feel free! i love getting
letters! they make your day :)
so
on tuesday we went and had a district mtg and talked about contacting at least
20 people a day. contacting means you talk with them about the church, not
necessarly a lesson but also not just "hi howzit??" haha so we went
out and had a miracle. we worked all day and not much was happening so we went
over to this area called El walk and somehow contacted 36 people that day! we
had a lot of new investigators and lessons it was just crazy!
wednesdaywas
another day of talking and working, really we meet so many people it is insane!
everyone wants to hear the word, the trick is helping them actually do the
word, not be hearers only haha
thursday
we had a zone leaders meeting so another elder spent the day with us and we
went tracting for the first time that day and met a white family from south
africa
friday
we helped Matilda a bit more and i was kinda worried because she didn't seem
ready for baptism but we kept pushing forward, at night we went
tracting/contacting again and when we walk we harmonize together because we
both sing and so he goes melody and I make up crazy harmony haha that's always
a lot of fun and people come talk to us or ask us to sing stuff which is always
great.
Saturday
was Africa day which is a service day so we went and opened a new chapel in
jamestown! thats an area in accra and we cleaned the chapel and the streets
around it including the sewer.. not gonna lie the sewer was sketchy but to just
work hard and use a shovel felt good, nobody could shovel right... must be an
american work ethic thing. by the way all the big buildings are pretty much
unfinished here because they start projects and don't finish, same with some
houses like you would see in mexico. saturday was a long day and we didn't have
a lot happen until we went to bro alex's house! after a long bike ride and
getting lost we found it. we had planned to teach a lesson with him present
because having a member present really helps so much! but the guy canceled so
he took us to dinner and we had steak and it was soooooooo goooood! then he
taught us about getting out of the boat like Peter in matthew 14 and really it
was such a good conversation, i felt so much more focused and we talked about
how our purpose is simple: help others come to Christ. that talk is one for the
history books of my mission right there and it really meant a lot.
sunday we
had church (which always feels too short out here) and then the baptism for
Matilda!! it was so sweet and the spirit was great, her mom who is not a member
came and she cried and is looking into the church now! Matilda wasn't always
great with commitment but we met with her later that day at her house and she
told us how she felt so good about the church and the members and really she
was changing right before our eyes! it was a miracle and next week she will be
confirmed so we are just happy as could be!
Today
we went to an art market and say crazy african stuff that i'll send some to you
guys if you want anything just let me know!
Can
someone tell aunt Brenda thank you for embrodering my shirts? that really helps
a lot out here and I never said thanks enough for that, love you aunt b! tell
dad i had one eyed jacks everyone! thought of him and smiled, it was a good
moment
landon
you should send me some recordings of you playing piano because i miss that,
you really were the best companion i ever had and I want to thank you for
helping me and setting the example for me. get ready for the mission, it'll
change your life but you need to start preparing mentally right now!
Hey
if you write to me let me know how you are seeing the blessings of the spirit
that entered the home when i left, i am pretty excited to hear how that is
blessing you all. and if you write a handwritten letter you can send it through
pouch or not, if I send it through pouch it only leaves on fridays so it takes
longer but it is free for me to do that, so i will just try and send a few
every friday :)
I
love you all and am so grateful for our eternal and beautiful family, keep your
heads up and enjoy life, we have eternal blessings in store that i am helping
to prepare right now!
love
you family you mean the world to me
